How to Use the Squarespace Gallery Block

When you build a website in Squarespace, one of the most important decisions you will make at the outset is choosing a template. Inherent to each template is a gallery page with a couple distinct look and feel options specific to that template. But did you know that the Gallery Block tool in Squarespace enables you to build a variety of different types of galleries, regardless of the template you choose?

The four gallery block options—slideshow, carousel, grid style, and stacked style—function exactly the same in every Squarespace template, giving you options beyond the gallery page within your design of choice. And, in the event that these standard options don’t suit your needs, we can generally offer a customized solution for your special circumstance.

Here’s how it works:

Begin by adding a Gallery Block to your content area. You can pre-select the type of gallery you wish to add to the page or content area. In addition, you can also toggle between the 4 choices once the block has been added.

Once you have chosen a gallery style, you can explore and tweak the various style settings associated with each.

When you have your Gallery Block looking just how you'd hoped, you can reposition the location of that block in your content area, just as you can with all Squarespace blocks.
