As anyone who has browsed the Squarespace templates page knows, the stunning use of strong, large imagery sets a high bar when it comes to sourcing photography for your own site.

With Squarespace 7 came the ability to search through a fully integrated library of Getty images and license these for your own use for a very reasonable $10 per image. Click here for more details.

We’re going to walk you through the process of making a Getty image selection for your Squarespace site in the video below.

Searching for the right image can be a tricky business. Try varying your key words as much as possible if you’re not finding the right shot quickly.

Although you will be using stock photography, it doesn’t have to feel like you are. The Getty library within Squarespace is huge, so it’s worth taking the time to look for images which are not too ‘stock’ in feel. It’s a common client request to avoid sourcing images which feel too ‘staged’ and at Fix8, we couldn't agree more! Often times, images which simple convey a feeling about your brand can be effective, and may allow you to go a little more abstract in your photo selection as well.

Although the Squarespace Getty library is awesome, if you're not finding images that suit, we’re not limited by it. There are lots of other resources out there to help you find the perfect shot. We’ve listed some of our favorites below by budget.
