We’ve always sung the praises of Squarespace’s ability to optimize any template in its repertoire for mobile. But a few days ago that key feature became even more critical, when Google announced its “mobile friendliness” factor in search engine rankings. As a result of this change, websites that are not optimized for mobile will lose rankings within Google’s search results.

Squarespace—which has anticipated the importance of mobile since its launch of Squarespace 6 in 2012—has scanned all of its Squarespace 7 templates using Google’s Mobile-Friendly Testing Tool to ensure they comply. And, of course, they do!

If you’ve already got a Squarespace website, you can smile a little bigger today knowing that your Google rankings are set to improve without you having to lift a finger—or spend a dime! If you’re interested in building a website, this is one of the many reasons why Squarespace is right for you.
