Youth Beat Furthers Mission to Offer Media Training to Disadvantaged Oakland Youth with New Squarespace Site

Oakland Nonprofit Collaborates with Fix8 Media Squarespace Designers

At Fix8 Media, our Squarespace designers and developers love helping nonprofit organizations build effective, robust Squarespace websites that further their missions. The team at Youth Beat in Oakland, California, is so dedicated to inspiring low-income students to reach for the stars via free media training, we couldn’t wait to take their website to the next level! Using the Squarespace tools, Fix8 Media’s Squarespace designers created a robust new online presence for this California nonprofit that is all about helping kids reach their full potential.

Selecting the Squarespace Mojave template, we created an interactive home page experience showcasing the nonprofit’s video production training. A Motion Video background in the banner area highlights the organization’s promotional video while simultaneously encouraging visitors to make a donation. Scrolling down the page leads to calls to action to learn more about Youth Beat’s educational programs and availability for media work, as well as featured stories about students enrolled in the program.

Taking advantage of the Squarespace forms, Youth Beat offers interested parties the ability to request a quote for media work, while the organization relies on linked Google forms for students who wish to apply to its programs. For those interested in donating, Youth Beat links out to the third-party donation tool Classy to process donations.

The new Squarespace website also features a clean and organized portfolio of student work, which can be sorted by category, and a Squarespace blog sharing stories about the organization and its talented youth. It’s clear that the kids and their work take center stage at Youth Beat, and that message is well conveyed on the organization’s impressive new Squarespace website!
