Happy Thanksgiving!

In the spirit of gratitude that we celebrate today, Fix8 Media is thrilled to announce the winner of our first-ever Squarespace website giveaway: Debbie’s Treasure Chest in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Operated by Harvey Girls Inc., a nonprofit public charity, Debbie’s Treasure Chest helps at-risk children through cash and in-kind donations. It was started in 2007 by three children—Talia (age 8), Maxine (age 11), and Anna (age 12)—who were adopted into loving families and wanted to give back to their community. The charity is named after the girls’ social worker, Debbie D’Iorio, who passed away in 2006. She taught them that every child matters. A sentiment that rings painfully true in the state of our world today…

Although Anna has since moved on to other projects, founding sisters Talia and Maxine still head up the organization today. Since 2007, they have helped more than 2,000 families. They collect and distribute clothing, books, and toys for local families, but have also donated clothing to victims of natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the Haiti earthquake.

Annually, Debbie’s Treasure Chest hosts a coat drive for local children in need, as well as holiday toy and wish drives supported by the local fire and police departments. But the organization needs our help.

“Our current website isn’t that user-friendly, and we want donors and social workers in particular to be able to reach out and connect with us,” said Talia, now 16. “Our new Squarespace website will help us reach people in a whole new way.”

Her sister, Maxine, now 19, added: “We’re very excited for this opportunity! Ever since we got our new warehouse space last August, we’ve wanted to improve our website so we can reach more donors and get our charity out in front of more people. With Squarespace and Fix8’s help, we’re taking a great step forward in that direction!”

And we’re thrilled to help. Debbie’s Treasure Chest—a 100% volunteer organization run by kids who want to help other kids—is getting a Squarespace makeover, on us. Just as Talia, Maxine, and their kindhearted group of volunteers have granted wishes for so many children in their area, we can’t wait to fulfill their wish for a more effective, impactful, robust Squarespace website.

Thank you for all that you do for kids in need, Debbie’s Treasure Chest. And congratulations from the Fix8 family.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Peace and love,
