It was a true privilege for Fix8 Media Squarespace designers and developers to work with the University of California San Francisco’s Department of Dermatology to redesign their website in the Squarespace platform. Taking into consideration the unique needs of this university department, Fix8 Squarespace designers worked closely with the team to organize a lot of information into a clean, friendly, highly functional website.
The site is built in the Squarespace Bedford template. To best organize the many service options provided by the department, Fix8 structured the navigation to include drop downs for both Patient Services and Specialty Services. Once inside one of the services page, the viewer has the option to navigate within the section via a secondary navigation on the left side of the page.
The Team area of the Squarespace site is designed in a similar fashion, with faculty members featured prominently one one page, where visitors can click to learn more about each member from a main central grid. The secondary navigation enables one to toggle between the various areas of the staff.
A Make a Gift button links out to the university’s donation page, enabling the user to go directly from the Department of Dermatology Squarespace site to a secure donation page on the UCSF site. And a bar at the top of the home page gives users the option to learn more about UCSF or search for a specific topic.
