For Ohio Valley University (OVU) in West Virginia, redesigning their website in a platform that would give the marketing team the ability to update and maintain the website was paramount. So when they approached Fix8 Media Squarespace website designers in Longmont, Colorado, with their project, we were more than up for the challenge: Not only were we excited to collaborate with the OVU team on a new design that would make the website more intuitive for prospective and current students, but also to help the OVU team to learn and use the Squarespace tools on their own.

The OVU redesign started with the Squarespace Mojave template—a favorite of Fix8 Media’s due to its flexibility and superior blogging capabilities. The home page features a motion video background in the banner area with an immediate call to action to “Apply Now.” University stats, a marketing video, an Events calendar, and a news blog round out the home page offering.

Catering to prospective students and their families, current students and their families, alumni, and others interested in what the university has to offer, the site architecture is clean and intuitive. There are drop downs dedicated to Academics, Admissions, Student Life, Alumni, and Athletics. Those who want to stay up to date on university happenings can sign up for the e-newsletter conveniently on the footer of each page of the website.

With such a comprehensive website that covers so many areas, it was critical that the OVU marketing team learn the ins and outs of the Squarespace platform to make frequent updates a breeze. Following Squarespace training, they are fully equipped to make changes on demand—updating information, adding news posts, and posting events to keep everyone on campus and off in the know.
